The American Anthropological Association (AAA) is the world’s largest professional organization of anthropologists. It was founded in 1902 and has more than 10,000 members from around the world. The AAA’s mission is to advance anthropology as a discipline and profession, and to promote the exchange of knowledge about human cultures and biology. The AAA provides resources and support for anthropologists at all stages of their careers, and serves as a voice for the discipline in the public sphere. The AAA also publishes several journals and books, and hosts an annual meeting where anthropologists can present their research and network with their colleagues.
