Sydney Yeager, Ph.D., stands at the intersection of anthropology and technology as a digital anthropologist. Currently a Senior Design Researcher at Walmart Global Tech since January 2023, her expertise encompasses management, root cause analysis, cultural anthropology, and research design. At Walmart, she employs her anthropological acumen in the hybrid work environment to shape research methodologies and problem-solving approaches.
Prior to joining Walmart, Sydney was a UX Researcher and Product Advisor at AcreTrader from August 2022 to January 2023. She specialized in the continuous discovery of research and product development. Her work there emphasized the union of empathic insights with data-driven decision-making. Before AcreTrader, Sydney completed an internship in product management at Boston Scientific from December 2020 to June 2021, adding another layer to her multidisciplinary expertise.
Sydney’s academic contributions include a role as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Rollins College from June 2021 to August 2022, her involvement with the Society for Medical Anthropology, and co-founding and chairing the Digital Anthropology Interest Group (DANG).
